  • Serbian Blue Clay is used for medicinal and cosmetic purposes from prehistoric times. It has become quite popular in skincare lately due to its amazing skin benefits. Serbian blue clay was named so because it was formed in Siberian lakes. No wonder that it is one of the oldest cosmetic clays on this earth. Its unique color derives from minerals and algae.

  • To make the mask more effective, you can add drops of essential oil or oils, lemon juice, avocado pulp, activated carbon, or other ingredients. Alternatively, you can substitute water to enrich clay masks with carrier oil (for dry skin) like milk, yogurt, herbal infusion, green tea, etc.
  • If you want to use it for skincare, you need to buy a pack of Serbian blue clay because it’s a great ingredient for facial masks and scrubs. The simplest way to make a facial mask with blue clay is to mix it with lukewarm water until you get a thick paste, and then apply it to clean skin.  At last, let the mask sit for 10–15 minutes and then rinse it.
  • This clay enters deep into your pores and removes dirt, grime, excess sebum (skin oil), and toxins. With its detoxifying properties, the clay prevents blackheads and dull complexion.
  • It works as a natural exfoliant. It not only unclogs pores; it also removes dead cells from the skin surface, making the skin smooth, fresh, and glowing. Take grounded blue clay mixed with water effectively exfoliates the skin without rubbing it.
  • It is for topical applications only.
